hey sulai, we like you, and are hoping that you might allow us to extract a bit of your essence before you leave so that we can drip a dropper drop onto anyone who appears less than excited about our hair-brained schemes. it’s an almost painless process.

good work. one more day of shooting, and that’s it! after hours wrestling with a busted projector and stubborn camera neil and i think we should look into pricing for a real LA transfer. this may be the only way our film gets to hollywood, in that it will physically be there, though latent, for a week. we got all the new stuff (except for some blurry spots at the beginning of rolls) and got a better transfer for the dark stuff we shot in DUMBO. Lets get good and ready tonight and make sure the shot list below has everything we need for continuity.
SCORE!

Send Us Your Shorts!
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy is now soliciting short films for the 2008 Movies With A View outdoor film series.
Now in its ninth year, Movies With A View is one of New York City’s premiere film series and runs for 8 Thursdays in July and August in Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park in historic DUMBO, Brooklyn. Each evening we present a full-length feature film, preceded by a short film from an independent filmmaker.
To be considered, short films should be no more than 10 minutes long and suitable for a wide audience of 3,000 – 5,000. Unfortunately, we cannot accept films with subtitles. Preference is given to local filmmakers and those that involve Brooklyn in some way. Final selections will be announced in April 2008.
Please send a DVD screening copy of your short film to:
MWAV Film Committee
Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy
334 Furman Street
Brooklyn, NY 11201
Include your name, address, e-mail, phone number and length of film on your entry. DVDs will not be returned unless a postage-paid envelope is included. For more information, please contact Kellie Rogers. Unfortunately we cannot provide any compensation to filmmakers.
Short films will be screened and selected by our Volunteer Film Committee.
Good luck!
Movies With A View is presented by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation and the Natural Heritage Trust.

(here’s an email that offers some hope for unmarketable movies everywhere. check out the links)
hey Wes,
was great to meet you last week. i asked my friend Damon if he had anything online and i’m afraid he doesnt. he quipped that he was too scared of being made fun of by teenagers on youtube. so, i’ll have to make a copy of his dvd and make a hand off sometime.
anyway, these are the pals of mine that i mentioned. they’re trying to change the film industry. they’re optimistic and it may yet give you hope about the feasibility of being a director. this is a new film-fest/distro project they’re working on called “from here to awesome”.

incidently, you can watch their entire film online if you want. should be on foureyedmonsters.com, but if not, i’m sure theres a link there.
okay, hope alls well.
